Senior Software Architect

Function: Researh and Development Location: Singapore
Type: Full-Time    

Job Description

Working within the Research & Development teams, the Technical Architect will be responsible for directing software and J2EE product architecture for FT.

Responsibilities:

  • Key player in translating FT business requirements into dynamic, proven J2EE based solutions.
  • Lead high level architecture design inline with current and future business demand.
  • Drive the creation of new product design requirements and technical specifications.
  • Participate in the construction and coding of key modules, infrastructure and proofs of concept.
  • Act as a technical adviser in support of key sales opportunities and professional services engagements.
  • Communicate architectural concepts via mentoring, technical presentations and white papers.
  • Drive tool selection and technologies for development.
  • Approve all core product designs.
  • Lead application migration to new platforms, databases and technologies.
  • Evaluate performance of direct reports.
  • Lead performance testing and enhancements for the product.
  • Ensure the proper management of subcontractors.

Requirements

  • A proven track record as a senior software architect in large-scale software development projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of software development methodologies and processes.
  • Proven track record of successful management of resources and timelines.
  • Solid development skills, ability to get hands-on when necessary.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in OOP/OOD in Java or related technologies.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience of J2EE technologies or other current web application development technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of relational database management systems (Primarily Oracle, Mysql or Sql Server)
  • Good working knowledge of Linux and Microsoft Windows Server.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written a must.
  • University degree in Computer Science or related field.
