J2EE Software Developer

Function: Researh and Development Location: Singapore
Type: Full-Time    

Job Description:

As a key participant on the Research & Development team the J2EE Software Developer will be responsible for designing and developing FT’s Workforce Management software.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead component level design using J2EE technologies.
  • Analyze complex technical specifications and translate them into proven software solutions.
  • Provide input into the application architecture and development technologies.
  • Build detailed knowledge of all FT products, product architecture, development tools and common customer operating environments.
  • Participate in project and customer service teams as a technical resource and contribute to successful customer implementations.
  • Provide feedback on development processes and guidelines.
  • Mentor and direct other members of the development team where required.
  • Provide assistance with problem resolution and testing.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Proven and demonstrable problem solving skills.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience working with Java based technologies.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience of J2EE based Web Application Development.
  • In-depth knowledge of Java and J2EE technologies: Swing, JSP, Servlets, XML, DOM/SAX.
  • Advanced knowledge of application servers primarily WebSphere and SAP WAS
  • Advanced knowledge of database connectivity and integration. (Oracle, MySQL and SQL Server)
  • Good working knowledge of Linux and Windows 2000/XP
  • Proven track record of successful management of resources and timelines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written a must.
  • Experience with the production of applications that function on multiple browsers, platforms and versions.
